Astro Spectra Secure key name

Post by Kenneth Jensen »

Hi everybody - I have a small thing I hope some of you guys can help me with.
On an Astro Spectra is there any way to get it to not to display the secure key name when recieving an encrypted transmission? It is a little confusing when you have ch 01 and 02 and it every time writes "KEY 1" and after that the MDC1200 id. I have turned it off so that it does not show it when changing channel or transmitting - and now I have set the temporary message time to the minimum of 250 ms - but I would prefer to be able to turn it completly off instead. Host/Dsp is 11.14/8.03 - flash 580001-001A40-9 - secure module is an UCM V355

I forgot to write - I have CRK key management activated - I have just tryed almost everything - I can not get the radio to not to show the secure key name on an incomming transmission... Also I can not get it to hold more than 1 encryption key - I am running analog - non trunked with it - just normal simplex operation - I hope someone could tell me the settings to get all this to work...

Have you unclicked the "display key" option under the display settings?

I dont think I have this setting - but in multikey settings I have deactivated the key name by mode change, ptt and secure key push - but it still shows the key name - as my XTS5000 also do - does that mean that it maybe is impossible to turn it off?

Its a standard check box. Go thru each tab in CPS, starting from the top.

in secure upset - under display keyname on secure swicth/ptt and mode change is set to "neither" - it is the only menu like this I can find - this is on my XTS5k - I dont have the codeplug for the astro spectra right now - but the xts is similar. If this is not the right place to turn key display off - please let me know exactly wich menu to enter.

I can't even find any mention of this. Care to provide a screenshot and the actual name of the control?
