I am using a Quantar set up as both Astro and Analog operation. It is set up with DPL (Analog) RX and TX under the "Access Configuration Screen" (I think thats the name of screen); anyway, I also have set up a TX/RX Astro Code of 114. The repeater works great in both Analog and Astro modes.
My question is this, I see that I can add additional channels and Access logs, but quickly doing it under the Channel Information Screen only shows 1 access code screen. What I would like to know if there is a way to use the same frequency, but have multiple codes (Community Repeater type operation), where fire company "A" uses Astro Code 114, fire company "B" uses Astro Code ***, fire company "C" uses Astro code ***, and so on. Instead of all companies using (and hearing) the conversations of all companies.
Thanks and hope I didn't confuse anyone above. Thanks.
I didn't know if I could make multiple channels (same freq though) with the different access codes for each one.

Re: QUANTAR UHF Repeater (Multiple Codes?)
It might be easier (a little out of my league here though) to use ASTRO Talkgroups? Would accomplish the same thing.

Re: QUANTAR UHF Repeater (Multiple Codes?)
If the Quantar firmware is new enough [13 & up] and the corresponding programming software is used, it is possible to set the station up for multiple NAC operation [similar to MCS], however, only a single analog squelch code can be used in mixed-mode with multi-NAC.
It is also possible to set the station up to accept any NAC and retransmit using the last received code.
See the RSS manual 68-81085E35-AE + SMR-6739 or the Windows RSS help file for further details.

Re: QUANTAR UHF Repeater (Multiple Codes?)
Thanks guys for your help so far. What I have programmed in the Quantar that I mentioned in the beginning (couldn't remember name off the top of my head) was Network ID I have set at 114 for repeater keying and the Quantar access table set up for that.
On the portables. I am trying to do the "Talkgroup" thing. I made a talkgroup for Fire company "A", one for company "B" and so on. I have it set to "Strapped" Talkgroup in the portable programming. The thing is though, I can still hear the conversation of the other "companies" and I do not want that, I just want Co. "A" to hear each other, and so on. I'm not sure what else I need to do to accomplish this mission. thanks

Re: QUANTAR UHF Repeater (Multiple Codes?)
Are your digital unmute rules "Digital CSQ" or "normal squelch"?
