Fail 01/92 Astro Saber

Okay odd enough question, I've already solved the issue, but I am hoping someone can advise me why it happened..

Added a password on power up to my Astro Saber Model 3 today and got a FAIL 01/92 code. Since that was the only thing I had changed I went back and deleted that option, rewrote the radio and it works just fine.

I'm wondering why I got that error code in the first place.. Am I not able to have a startup password on a Astro Saber? If I am, how do I get around this error code? Yes, I set the password length to match the actual password..

Thinking the 4F1E codeplug and hardware encryption is the problem. Take the password off, program radio, pull UCM out of radio, then program with password. Now it should work

Your 4F1E whore codeplug has software encryption which doesn't play nice with hardware encryption in the Astro series. You'd be better off with a 1C5E codeplug if you need hardware encryption.
