Astro Saber part #..

Post by Rayjk110 »

Does anyone have the part number for the Astro Saber knobs, I need the #s for the Channel and Volume knobs, the regular "flanged" kind, or if only low-profile is available, that will also do.

Stupidity creates job security!

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

I'm working at a Motorola shop, now. We have LOTS of Astro Saber parts gathering dust if you're interested. PM me.

No, the analog Sabers use a separate plastic insert. The Astro Sabers come with a metal sheath inside the knob all ready to go.

Sorry, mine and Motorola's work ethics clashed too much. I worked there for six weeks, and the "screw unto others" philosophy didn't cut it for me. I'm back at my nuclear security job. They would have rather thrown the parts in the trash, than to help anyone; much less; sell them to someone. Sucks, don't it? It sucks for more than me just not working at a M shop. Don't get me wrong - my devotion to Motorola, and my adoration of their technology hasn't changed. I just can't work for someone that greedy. I could have taken them a LONG way. In fact; I did, in just six weeks, but they wouldn't relent on being reasonable. They wrote me one hell of a letter of recommendation, though... Economy... Bla, bla, bla... Their opinion was that they "just couldn't afford me with the economic downturns". What a bunch of wankers... As Director of Operations; I was only making $69,000.00 per year! Tait, Thales, and Icom jumped on me like a cup of coffee and a pack of cigarettes at an AA meeting, but I turned them down. There's still something to be said for ethics... Evidently; I'm just not the one to be saying them...

The part no for the Saber low profile knobs are:

I got these numbers from the Saber(R)parts list section off the Motorola parts and accessories book

FYI, the REX4016 knob shows to be canceled and the REX4017 knob doesn't come back at all in a search. I think you guys are SOL on ordering these new now.
