Motorola M370/LM2000 & Tone Remote

Post by KE9GK »

Hello All:
I am trying to see if it is possible to tone remote one of these radios. I realize the limitations of this (no display, no way to remotely change who I am direct connecting, and I also have no need for cross-fleet calls as it cant be done anyway).

My customer has a fairly large warehouse and he is looking at a way to have several tone remotes located throughout the business with connections to this unit and their LTR control base. Obviously the LTR and Tone Remotes aren't the issue...but getting this unit to be tone controled is!

Please help!
After years of dealing with the public I have realized.....You Just Can't Fix Stupid!

You can tone remote any radio you desire. All it takes is a tone remote adapter panel.

There are a number of companies that make tone remote adapter panels. They run the
cost spread of around $250 to $550 each. All you need is +12 volts DC and interface it
into the radio. In many cases, this can be done from the mic connector or the accessory
connector on the radio.

Contact the company of choice and they should be able to provide the interface connection
information for what ever radio your trying to use.
