Inhibited radio

Can a gtx be inhibited.

As far as I can remember a GTX does not support MDC1200 so therefore does not respond to a Inhibit data burst. I could be wrong though. Anybody Absolutely sure?

any radio operating on a type 2 trunking system can be turned off with a SIMS terminal, system watch terminal, or the newest software, "SITELENS"

Batdude, I didnt know they made a smartnet II GTX. Only privacy plus I/II. I thought the smartnet version of the GTX was the LTS2000, where you can even add smartzone as an option. Please write me back on if they dont "officially make" this model and how to do the conversion.

The GTX is fully capable of Type I/II/IIi trunking, and can even be set for "limited" Smartzone operation (no RSSI comparison capability, it won't switch from a site until it loses the control channel completely). Except for the Full Smartzone and MDC capability (both optional) of the LTS/LCS2000, the GTX is a much more flexible radio due to the fact that the LTS/LCS is Type II only. All that being said, I don't know for sure that they can be inhibited, but I assumed any newer Type II radio can be.

My radio was inhibited . I had to blank the system board and initialize the radio then reprogramm in the codeplug to get the radio back up and running.

HI Kenner, I am a newbie at trunking but I thought that when a radio is knocked off the air, all one had to do way go into the rss and re program the radio as it was normally and all would be good.

AS I said above I am not too smart when it comes to trunking so I am not sure if this is right.

Thats what i thought too but it didnt work after i reprogrammed the codeplug in the radio , i tried several times and did the blank board as a last resort and it worked.

Ok...yeah I think you may be correct. Its just I am used to working with really crappy GTX 900 Mhz LTR. I have only dealt with the privacy plus mobiles on occasion.
