Jack,
IIRC, the guts of the PT500 are same as the MT500 HT. I have a supply of the lowband
tech manuals and you can have one if it helps. PM me your snail mail address and I'll
get it off to you next week. I'll be home from a short vacation on Monday afternoon.
The setup of the transmitter is pretty easy. You can get up to 50.5 with just adjustments
to the existing trimmers. The receiver is more complicated. When a friend and I got our
MT500s set up we chose 50.525, not 52.525, and we sent the radios to a another friend down
in Louisiana for receiver setup. He did the job and wrote back with the receive specs which
as I recall were something like .5 microvolts. He also said at the time that if one wanted to
do so it was possible to run the radios up to 8 or 10 watts output, which would be foolish with that
500mA battery on the HT. On the PT I guess the battery has a lot more current capacity.
Anyway, send your address and I'll send you the lowband manual.
Regards,

Re: Request source for Alignment/Schematic PT-500 Lunchbox
Hi Tom,
Somehow I never received a reply email when you posted. I'm sorry.
Finally getting into radios again. My life is very cyclic with work taking a 80% chunk. So its computers, old radio/tv restoration, ham radio, and round and round I go.
Just happened to begin looking again for PT500 frequency change methods and saw your post.
I'll be happy to toss a few bucks your way for a copy of a suitable PT500 manual or clone.
I need to know information on moving the current 48.200Mhz to 6mtrs ham band; typical alignment info too.
Please let me know,
Thanks
