Maratrac Won't Transmit

Post by ICEMANTIM »

Hello I receive 2 Maratrac's from our local EMS when they switched to 12.5 slpit on the repeater. I finely got time to play around with them. I got one all hooked up and it powers up and receives fine. The probelm is it will not transmit. I have it hooked up to a Astron 20 amp power supply. I am guessing that is not big enough since the radio is set for 88 watts transmit. Any ideas?

Thanks for the help

26-28 amps on transmit, so 20 is not sufficient. If there's no jumper inside the control head for the transmit PTT path, you'll need to install it or use the VIP plug with the jumper for the transmit PTT path. Batlabs has all this info under specific model info, and Google is your friend.

Hello thanks for the info. I will try and hook it up to a battery with a charger on it. That should work. I do not have the VIP Plug. I looed on Batlabs and googled how to jump the PTT in the control head but could not find anything. Any ideas.

Thanks

Try jumping pins 20 and 37 of the VIP port.
