VRM650 Manual anyone?

Post by Pj »

Anyone have a pdf copy of the VRM650 manual? Basic or detailed service manual would be great too.

I don't think there was ever a repair manual for the 650 modem board.

Actually there is a manual for the 650 board. However there aren't any real parts available for it. The part number you might inquire about it 9808901C20. I believe I got it off of MOL.

Also, as I try to come here a little more often I can try to answer any VRM questions we have. So far from what I've seen of the 650's the most common failure is an inductor chip getting blown out by improper grounding on the terminal side. This particular chip resides under the "shield" and can be bypassed with a "blue wire" repair to any ground point. The guys at the shop used the DTE ground for this.

I am more interested in the AT commands that can be sent to the modem, more than anything..

Ah,

That sir is in another manual I don't have that one to give any reference but the part number listed in the 650 book is 6802931C70. I might try to get ahold of that one too but I'm not too software savvy and will likely get confused. LOL

Update,

News and bad news on the part number.

Part was upgraded to a CD format and was changed over to 9808901C25.

Bad news is it's not available through Motorola anymore so I'm outta luck there. You may have better luck through your channels.
