I am looking at a legitimately tagged XTS5k that has flashcode 5B9008-041687-4. Can Q53 be added without a major hassle and at what cost? I want to add Q53 and bump from 9 to 12.
Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Q53 To Add or not to Add
Should be a matter of filling out the paper work with Motorola and sending to the depot. If it is a legit tagged radio then it shouldn't be much of a hassle at all. Last time I heard anything about adding Q53 was a $400-500 if it already had Q52 and was legit. Someone else might have more or better info than I do as it has been a while since I checked.
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
Re: Q53 To Add or not to Add
Trunking and FPP Q53/Q52 don't mix in anything past CPS 9.
CPS past R09 limits you to one MDC profile for the first 15 zones, same for QCII. So if you use more than 1 signaling profile in the first 240 channels, your out of luck with that with Q53 option.

Thanks everyone for all the info. It looks like it's CPS9 for me.
