Quick spectra question

Post by hfd376 »

Sorry, I did a search and must have missed it. Whats the meaning behind the various colors of the factory label on a spectra?

Different factories. The white one may be a Depot tag.

Also the serial number tells where and when the radio was made.

Thanks, over the years I had seen people say its a black label or white label as if to designate something. I had never seen what that something was!

Well, just to confuse things a bit, generally a black label is newer than a white label, but if a radio goes to the depot, it comes back with a white label. However it does look different from the original white label. Just go to Ebay & look at the different types of stickers on Spectras for sale. The depot ones seem to be whiter than the original ones.
