AS2 to AS3 conversion

Post by 007 »

After getting shot down in this thread about no 9600 baud in the AS line, I have a new question...but welcome back to 2001:

I have a VHF model 2 Astro Saber in a Model 3 case. After years of ownership, I just now came to the realization that it's really a model 2 as the DTMF doesn't work. What steps need to be taken to uplift the radio to be a model 3? I searched, but didn't find a whole lot...but assume a M3 codeplug needs to be force-fed into the radio?

Help a guy out here...
Do not make Sig angry...he'll just keep ringing the bell.

Jam in a M3 s-record using the normal methods. Either copy the alignment values and reinsert them post-mod, or simply realign the radio (probably needs to be done anyway).
