Remove Q52/53 on XTS2500 R12?

Post by grinthock »

XTS2500 R12.. it's a Panter radio.. FlashCode 5A1018-10178C-5

Suppose reading better would have made more sense. Read the flashcode before I picked it up, but of course I think i'm caught by the old "whored features don't work togeather"

I can program up Conventional stuff, all FPP, personality locked to zone assignment - that's fine.

However the Personality type is locked to CONV, it won't switch to trunk... (even with FPP disabled).. Is this infact a due to the mix of Q52 and Q53?

Thanks.

Correct... FPP and trunking of any type are mutually exclusive.

If that radio was a R09.xx.xx radio with only Q52 and not Q53 in the mix, you would be able to select conv or trunk all day long in the zones.. Once Q53 is thrown in the mix, be it by itself or paired with Q52, trunking is out of the picture as a selection in the zone.

Stupidity creates job security!

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

That sucks.. Is it theoretically possible to re-flash back to R9 with only Q52?
