CDM 1550 EPROM CS Error HELP!

Was programming up an older CDM 1550 today using a wirless rib after market cable. During the programing cycle, I got the above error. Could not get the unit to reprogram. Is it restorable?

Any ideas other than sending it back to Motorola?

I did a search for this topic and could not come up with anything.

I heard the latest CPS can restore this, can anyone confirm?

Just tried it....YES it works. You just do a normal download from the radio to the computer and a pop-up screen comes up, and asks you what you want to do. I just restored it to the normal factory radio. Checked the functions on the radio and all worked OK.

Reload my codeplug that I had saved and everything is back to normal. Thanks for the advise. I was not aware of the new cps verison.

What version CPS were you using? I have 06.10.02 and I didn't get the window popping up you had. I am having the same error come up for my radio.

It was the lastest ver from MOL. I down loaded it from the MOL site. I am not at work to check what ver it was.

The latest from CPS R06.11.10 as of 06Jan 2010.
and the FW R05.08.05A as of 07october 2009(just incase you asked)

Ok I seen in some other threads people speak of a window popping up in the cps when the EPROM CS ERROR comes up asking you what you want to do. I have cps 06.10.02 and mine isn't doing anything like that. Infact my unit isn't doing anything at all. I have also heard forcing the old codeplug into it several times until it takes it would work too but no suck luck with mine. When I go to read the unit it won't. Any ideas?

Thats because you need CPS R06.11.05 or higher..
