CDM 1550 LS + extra board ?

Post by arlojanis »

I opened a later model VHF CDM1550 LS + and there was an extra board mounted to the top lid and plugged into the main board. What is this extra board ?

Did it look like an HT series Keypad?

It's the PassPort board.

Is there a part# on the board? It could be a voice storage board.

Aside from the PassPort board, and the recorder board being an option, there are also the inversion scramblers being used in the same location, under a chromed, plastic cover.

I have CDM750 that has this board.

And yes, it looks like a Waris keypad with the same ribbon flex.

My options board # on one of the chips(EEPROM)is: 3779607, V5C, 11/03, 177985.

I suspect this is Rev. V5C, and programmed on 11/03.

Board has the typical LCD connector header, as well as the header for the ribbon flex.

Pretty adaptable board, since it 'goes portable' mobile and who knows what other radios this board has been stuffed into now.....
