APX Software Question

Post by Einstein »

Multiple versions of the CPS are allowed to be installed on the same computer. Please
note that when double-clicking on a the .mc file, the latest installed CPS will be launched
to open the .mc file.
NOTE: DO NOT INSTALL MULTIPLE VERSIONS OF THE CPS INTO THE SAME FOLDER.

From the following, the APX software appears to allow you to have multiple versions of the software on the computer.
Question, if the radios are not backwards compatable, why would you need older versions kept on your computer. The XTS software wants you to delete previous versions before installing the current version.
Just curious.

Astro25 wants you to delete older versions but you don't have to. Good example would be having R9 and R12 or R13 on your computer.

Can't see any reason right now for two versions of APX CPS, but I am sure Motorola will introduce some bugs into future versions that will keep people from wanting to use it. Kind of like the latest round of firmware that turns the radio into a drooling sloth and makes a 386 PC look like an i7 quad core 8)
