XTS2500 w/ FPP - any firmware upgrade issues?

Post by d119 »

I recall there being some situation that would kill FPP on Astro25 radios... But can't recall or find the post that described what it was.

Can an XTS 2500 (8MEG) with FPP be upgraded to the latest rev firmware without disturbing the FPP? Flashcode is 160008-000100-8.

Thanks.

You will be just fine, it was the units that had only Q52 that had an issue. That issue was CPS 10 and above would not allow the FPP to work without both Q52, and Q53.

That is a Q52 only radio, newer FW will make the FPP go by-by.
Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

Most excellent. Just picked up a 2500 with IMPRES batt, antenna, IMPRES charger, properly tagged with FPP Q52/Q53 for $400. Did I do good?

The flashcode posted contains both Q52 & Q53.. FPP wont go anywhere with new firmware..

Stupidity creates job security!

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

Hmmmm, my decoder is telling me different, maybe it's time for an upgrade.

H869/W969

Are the options showing, what decoder are you using?
