MTS2000

Post by KI4RGV »

Hey guys,

I got a great deal on a 800MHz rebanded MTS2000 M3. Only problem is, it has been recased in a MTX shell.

I know it's not a big deal, but I want the right label on the radio.

Does anyone know were I can get a MTS2000 sticker for my radio?
Also, does anyone have a part number for a 800MHz OEM Motorola stubby antenna?

I had some feedback from some some guys that said is better just to replace the whole shell because swapping stickers doesn't work. Apparently, the sticker wont stick well. Ive never heard this before. What is your take on it?

Thanks.

Hey Pete. Forget what you were told about the stickers. They stick just fine. I've even peeled labels off one radio & stuck them on others & 10 years later, they're still stuck in place. No need to buy a whole case as that one looked fine. If you need a decal, contact Escomm. He can get them. Or if you can wait till field day, I have some here I'm looking at, brand new. Take care. I second what Gary wrote. Besides, when you recase a radio, you order the case, eg. NTN7154 and then you order the three labels as appropriate for that particular radio. So...even a NEW case has new labels on it. They stick very well and I have also reused old labels when we were out of stock rather than making the customer wait for a new order. The adhesive is very durable and doesn't seem to dry out with age. Sounds to me like someone was trying to sell a case.

Gary, can I send you some cash and you mail it to me? Or one day this week or next I can drive up to PBC to meet up with you.

Tom, it was a buddy of mine who said the comment about the sticker. If he had a spare shell, he would of just given it to me. Thank though, I appreciate you looking out.

Gary, let me know.

3305409X05 - MTS2000 LABEL - Not in book or properly subbed over on MOL but this is the part number.
3305183R55 - MOTOROLA LABEL
1305698V01 - ABC LABEL

I don't like trying to spell the proper word for those labels so I'll just refer to them as labels from here on out. LOL

Thank you all for your input.

Gary - I'll give you a buzz when I get a chance tomorrow.

LOL - I'll wash my hands before I apply the label (err - escutcheon)!
