Jeff,

Judging by the way the radios are set up in the photo, apparently the manufacturer believes that a 2 mHz split will work okay on VHF the same way we use a 5 mHz split on UHF. Lots of luck. It ain't gonna woik very well.

Radio Shack had something of a similar concept 5+ years ago. Theirs used one radio, incoming signal got recorded on a chip and when carrier was dropped it re-transmitted. Better idea that might have been of some value if it worked. Went thru about 5 of them, none of them worked more than 50% of the time.

They wouldn't buy the Kenwood P25 radios I quoted them 6 years ago.....

Might be convenient for a crossband repeater in a pinch. Think it has a CWIDer built in?
