HT 1000 Programmin Help
I have moved my CPS software over to my Laptop a Dell Latitude D600. I program several other models of radios with this computer and cables, and Rib Box. But when I attempt to read a HT-1000 I keep getting a error "Rib Port Communication Unsuccessful" Does anyone have any suggestions?

I believe the HT1000 only works with RSS. Not CPS. GARY N4KVE

Thanks I have checked the RSS and it is comm 1. It does not have all usb. I currently use the Moto Rib with other radios that plugs into comm 1

Re: HT 1000 Programmin Help
Let's all try to get on the same page and figure this thing out.
1. Are you trying to program the HT with CPS or RSS? Gary suggested that the 1000 only programs with RSS, so does it or doesn't it?
2. Your D600 has both USB ports and a serial port, but the reason for the problem you're having may be that the machine's bus speed and OS is too fast for the Motorola RSS program, if indeed what you're trying to run is actually RSS. Again, see question 1, above.
3. If you're running CPS the D600 will handle those programs with no problem, or at least it should. I run a D600 on several varieties of CPS, but I do my RSS work (the rare times that I still have to) on an old 25 mhz desktop.
Now, everyone back to the drawing board and start trying to make some sense out of the OP's problem after he answers the question of what type program his HT runs on.

Re: HT 1000 Programmin Help
HT1000 Jedi radios require RSS and there has not been ANY CPS for them.
Make sure that your computer is running DOS only NO Windows of any kind. Jedi RSS will not run in or arround Windows.
The older versions of HT1000 Jedi RSS will not run on faster computers. See the version VS. computer listing:
HT1000 & VISAR Conventional RVN-4098H May-98 Yes Pentium capable
