XTS1500 Password

XTS1500 Password
I recently picked up a Model 1 XTS1500 at a ham meet for a decent price. I was hoping to use it on a local VHF P25 Amateur Repeater. However, when I bring it to my friend who has the software it has a programming password lock on it. Does anybody know if this can be bypassed (or the programming just over-written), or if there is anything else I can do? The radio powers on and works no problem on the simplex channels that are in it. Many thanks.

Ask the seller what the password is? Send to Motorola? Sell it for little to nothing?
