HMN1038D microphone question

Post by Jay »

This particular microphone is a split bar microphone for Maxtracs, CDMs, etc.

I've got it wired to a non Motorola radio that has 6v on the microphone line (pin 5). It works fine and has good sound quality in this setup, but I'm just wondering if this is OK for the long term life of the microphone (i.e. does it need a DC blocking cap in line)

Thanks in advance.

No. It needs the dc to run the mic amp. Totally normal.
