Hi,
My GP338 (HT1250) is experencing a thump or a loud click when the radio un-squelchs on a CSQ, it is kinda of like when there is DC present over a speaker. I don't know about a PL channel as I havn't tried. When I use the radio with a head set the thump is unbearable. Its at the very start each time audio comes through the speaker or the head set. It seems to be most prominant when the volume is down low...ie when I am using the head set.
Radio is Version R 3.01 but this is a GP338 (aus) from Aug 2000 so the firmware revisions may not be inline with the US.
Any thoughts?
Nick
PS in around Aug of 2000 what was the current US firmware version for the HT1250.

Uprgrading the internal flash firmware will fix the radio's problems.

I don't know about it being "documented", however, I had a VHF model with version 1.00.05, and have a UHF model with 4.00.00, I've had the VHF upgraded to 5.04.00, the latest and the "thump" which both exhibit/ed went away!Nickdap wrote:Thanks josh!
So this problem is a documented one?
Feww now I can relax.

Re: HT1250 Audio "Thump/click" problem on un squelch
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I have got a GP338 (Aus) that is doing exactly the same thing.
The squelch appears like it is too tight, when listening to a local repeater with a constant signal strength the audio coming from the speaker drops in and out as people are speaking, resulting in a click or thump as the speaker closes.
It is very annoying, as low signal strength doesn't seem to be cause, it sounds like more like lower audio that is causing the speaker to close.
This sounds similar to your problem, did a firmware upgrade solve this issue ?
Has anyone else had any similar problems ?
Thanks
