XTS5000 Price?

Post by joes243 »

Why is it so hard to get pricing for XTS5000s? I contacted serveral dealers in the area looking for a very ballpark figure for buget planning and they were unable to provide. If anyone has recently purchased a UHF conventional (NO TRUNKING) with the a minimal flashcode, can you please let me know how much it was?

Thanks!

What radios do you own?: Progreso soup can with CRT

Lots of reasons, some sensible and others not so. Dealers of top tier equipment like multi-unit orders and if times are good don't bother with small stuff. Others are just snobs and have no regard for single-unit users, or hams, or other "non-professional" users.

If you want a radio that is not P25 and not trunked, one has to wonder why you need an XTS anyway. There are any number of Motorola radios that would do analog FM for you just fine for a lot less money than an XTS is going to cost you.

Thanks for the info.

I am looking at prices for the fire department I belong to, not for personal use. The reason I would like to go with the xts5000s are for the public safety features they offer (channel announcent, bigger knobs and buttons, mdc emergency decode, the commander speaker/mic). If someone can suggest another radio with these options (besides the xts2500), let me know.

Yea, the 7000XE is a very sharp looking radio. I am sure it costs much more then the XTS5000.

If this is for your department, you should call the local Motorola full line dealer and have their salesman help you get a quote for an MR order, since this is likely the route it will take. There is no excuse for them not talking to you.
