HT1000 ATIS/MDC Help

Post by bearchanez »

The area I am in has gone to a ATIS decode, well just our vol fire dept while everyone else went to the MDC1800 I believe. Well regardless of the take home radio being XTS I have personal Ht1000 for ham and scanning.

I recently took a AA1DN model I have a applied ATIS decode. It decodes and does for most part ok with decoding (just for the calm squeek, no display) without squelch feedback in end of ID data chirp.

Now I went to do this to a AA1BN model and it does not even decode (chirp basically) on ATIS on this model. It will only chirp with the MDC 1200 and in F3 options selecting 1200 or 1800 / 1200 and 1800 however emits the data squelch after the MDC chirp. I tried this to a CN model codeplug also. Nothing. Being CN AN B models cant be cloned to the D models or later so they say I am guessing they do not have the guts to decode a ATIS (being just for user pleasure of the chirp and no squelch after before the pl ends recieving. I did however clone the c model onto the B model but nothing.

I have tried different combos in the ATIS config all the way to tuning the unit that is 1BN to match the d model but nothing. I am wondering if anyone has had success with this to decode the ATIS on the models prior to D models in the HT1000 to get the chirp and no squelch for the data ID trail prior to PL silent dropping the receiving audio.

Does any one have a idea or a code plug for a H01KDC9AA1BN OR AA3BN model HT1000 capable of this atis chirp? I tried to set the steps to 12.5 and even gave the freq the step however nothing.

I am using RSS R03.02.01 28 JUN 96. for the HT Visar and Jedi. Is there a newer RSS for this or does any one have a code plug that may help me out in the B model or C model area? I figured I would ask before giving up on those 2 models of HT.

D model chirps ATIS fine no squelch for data ID. But like I said my guess is those models (A B C) arent capable of it (ATIS chirp/decode) or Im missing something.

Thanks for any help in this.

There is a ton of HT1000 data on this Board which is available by searching for it.
There is also some useful information at http://batlabs.com/visar.html and also at the
Repeater Builder website.

I'm no expert on this model radio but I do know that the DN model is the most desirable
one because, among other things, it does narrowband 12.5 kHz channels whereas the
A, B and C models do not. It sounds as if you've already discovered some of the more
important differences.
