CDM 1550 Remote Head Issue

Post by nfd-medic »

Hello all, Picked up a CDM 1550 with a broken volume on/off knob. Purchased a new control head board from MOL Part #GLN7352B / Moto Part #8415672H03_R and I get Wrong CHD Type when I try to power up, which I translate into Wrong Control Head Type. Being the common sense kind of guy I am I grabbed another control head from another CDM 1550 that I have to test the radio and that works fine that Moto part is #8486155B06-0 / GCN6114A. Am I behind on Firmware for this radio that's why it won't work? Any Ideas and Does MOL exchange wrong items if I ordered the wrong head?

Thanks

First is this an AA radio, and also what is the model number of the radio, the control head you ordered GLN7352B I can't find on MOL, it comes up as CNTL HEAD B WM with an invalid price. Whats the Tanapa number, its next to the model number on the sticker. The control head for a CDM1550 should be a GCN6114, if it's a GCN6113 that's for a CDM1250.

After some considerable research the GLN7352b is a control board only for a CDM-1250, not a CDM-1550. I suspect it's a Depot part only, that's why I get an invalid price for it. BTW the volume control is replaceable for about $7.00.
