Astro Spectra Fail 01/90

Post by Pump3 »

Hi folks
I have a 800MHz Dashmount Astro Spectra, always worked without a glitch until today when I brought it in from a vehicle thats been parked for 2 weeks, the radio was ice cold, and I brought in here to my desk where its nice and warm and hooked it up to make a programming change, and it wouldnt power on, gave me a Fail 01/90 and goes into a continuous self check loop...

Where do you guys suggest to start poking first? Maybe a fuse popped inside from condensation? first time seeing an error like this, I need this back in service asap

Very common spectra error, been discussed here 1000 times. It means the control head and radio aren't talking to each other. A couple of possible causes on a dashmount:

Power to the ignition sense lead but not to the main power connection.

Internal fuse blown. There's a green Pico fuse near the front of the command board. One thing it feeds is the audio PA, so if it's blown check your speaker connections.
