I have reprogrammed my MCS2000 with version R02.02.00 of CPS and have discovered that regardless of what functions I assign to the programmable buttons, they do not work as intended. Infact, most of them dont work at all. Each time I reprogram the buttons, its like they just magically change funtions each time irrespective of what function I assign to the buttons.
Any ideas?

Re: MCS2000 remote head functions not working
Is this a dash mount or a high power remote mount?
I have found that most control head problems on the high power remote mount can be attributed to the control cable connection on the transceiver. Reflow the control cable connector on the pcb in the transceiver and see if that takes care of your problem.
Also, stating the obvious, you could snap the control head apart and clean it.

Re: MCS2000 remote head functions not working
It might be due to old firmware.
I have an MCS2000 which has very very early firmware. When I used the latest DOS RSS, the programmable keys did not program - selected functions just disappeared. I think the early firmware was not set up for using a DTMF mic - so when you use later RSS which is set up for both standard and DTMF mics , the key programming got confused.
However , I found a work around. when I programmed key functions into the DTMF mic postions , they actually appeared on the front head!!! With a bit of trial and error , I got most of the front head keys programmed.
