Motorola HT1000 UHF Stubby Antenna (White)
My co-worker has a HT-1000 UHF with a stubby antenna, I checked the color of the base and it is WHITE, one place I checked showed that it is 800mhz, but its too fat to be 800mhz and it works on the UHF radio.
What freq range is this antenna?

Is 'Motorola' molded into the antenna ? Doesn't sound OEM UHF stubbies are coded green, black and I believe red on the low split.
White is used on the low split whip (rattail).

Sounds like its an after market cheapo you can buy on ebay. I know many that have white base and claim to be UHF, VHF, 800. They just make the form look correct and name it anything they want

As I answered the last time he posted the same question. The VHF stubby is about 1/2 taller and has a white ring in the base. The only differnece is the VHF has the three rings at the base on the outside.

actually the factory motorol vhf stubby really looks like it's a knock-off, it don't say motorola on it anywhere and the white ring on the bottom even looks cheap. part number RAD4194A for the vhf

Agreed, when I got these I never would have believed they were OEM if I hadn't ordered them directly from APD. Poor vendor supervision by 'M' . Never saw any portable antenna's sold thru Motorola that had a plated threaded connector such as these, not ideal to have metallic flakes bouncing around inside a radio or connector.HLA wrote:actually the factory motorol vhf stubby really looks like it's a knock-off, it don't say motorola on it anywhere and the white ring on the bottom even looks cheap. part number RAD4194A for the vhf

This RAD4194A looks like it's made by Centurion as model EXS-150-SF just saw one one EBay with a good pic and appears identical.
Might be a cheaper way of obtaining than going thru APD.
