CDM750 HEAD <-> CDM1550 HEAD

Post by ve1gln »

I have a radio that only takes 1550 head, a 220 Mhz radio, but I don't have any spare 1550 heads. Is there anyway to put
a 750 head on where it expects a 1550 head to be. Don't care if it only gets 4 working channels... Right now it's a door stop...

Thanks

Not that I am aware of. Any time that I have tried to put a wrong model head on, it shows a wrong control head error.

I don't think that I have tried a CDM750 head on a 1550. I will try and let you know.

It is possible, you have to change the control head jumpers on the board. Look in the service manual, and compare the jumpers around the middle of the board. I have used 1250 heads on 1550's buy changing those jumpers. It apparently tells the head micro what version to send to the radio.
