Astro Spectra Rib Cable

Post by screech67 »

I have a dash mount Astro Spectra, it came with what appears to be a factory programming cable. It has the correct connector for the rib box and the other end has a connector that mates into the microphone port. All the programming cables I see on-line connect on the back of the radio, not the front. Is this a correct programming cable?

Thank you

Mark

Mark,

The correct programming cable for a Astro Spectra does not plug into the mic jack, the cable you have may be a key-loader, a flash-cable. Another possibility is that it is an Astro Spectra Plus programming cable. Is there any part numbers on the cable? Is your radio and Astro Spectra Plus?

No part number on the cable but not a home made job, most certianly factory. Model No T99DX+135W_ASTRO ID No D04JKF9PW4AN. If it is a plus would it be the correct cable?

Thank you

On second thought, the Astro Spectra Plus cable has a DB-9 on it, not the DB-25 so it would not be the AS+ cable if it mates up to a RIB. The same goes for the key-loader cable it would not have a DB-x connector on it at all. So I would have to guess it's a Flash cable. Can you take a picture or two?

Thanks,

Jim.
