XTS2500 5000 Encryption

Post by pfd radio »

If an XTS2500 or XTS5000 (trunked P25) uses ADP encryption is there any requirements for keeping a charged battery on the radio to keep the "key"?

I guess I'm asking if they are the same as Sabers were with keeping the battery on and if you wanted to change batteries you had a set amount of time.

What radios do you own?: XTS2500, XTS5000, and MTS2000

in short, no. ADP is software based encryption and is not stored in volatile memory. Radios equipped with a UCM IIRC can be set to key destruct in CPS if the battery is removed but I may be wrong.
