CDM Remote Head Separation Kits

Post by Al »

The longest cable that M offers for these kits is 7 meters. The cables are standard 10 conductor flat telephone-type cable. Has anyone tried using a longer cable, say 75 feet, with these kits? Did it work satisfactorily?

I have a user using 50 feet in a fixed application (building).

They have not reported any issue.

The outer 2 pins on the 10 pin connectors are for handset audio, so if you don't need that you can use 8 conductor, which should be easier to find.

I have made up a Cat-5E cable at 40" that i use between the Control head upstairs and the RF Deck in the basement. Haven't had any issues, and its been that way for 2 years now. Just don't try and program thru the control head with that long of a cable run.
