XTS5k FPP question RE: BANDWIDTH

Post by ILuvXMRadio »

Tried searching, but didn't see this so I thought I would ask...

On my UHF "Q" FPP 5k, under the 'bandwidth' option, I have only 25kHz or 20kHz as options for bandwidth. I can't choose 12.5kHz.

I"m a little confused.. Shouldn't it be 12.5kHz (narrow band) and 25kHz (wide band)? Am I missing something?

On my VHF FPP 5k, I can choose 12.5, 20, or 25kHz options.

Did you try setting the transmit deviation for an individual channel in the Zone/Channel menu first? Try setting that to 2.5 kHz and see if it changes the transmit bandwidth to 12.5 kHz.

If its a secure enabled radio, disable securenet for that personaility. 12.5 will work clear or secure, but only if its des-ofb, AES, ADP (not -xl stuff)

PJ - here is what is in the radio..

KG1 DES-OFB
KG2 DES-XL

Not being familiar with the differences, does this flag with what you were saying?

to enable 12.5KHz channels first you need to set the receive to MIXED MODE then you will have access to the 12.5 KHz channel BW in the menu list.

Do this for analog or digital 12.5K.

Mike, that fixed me up... I never would have thought of that. They are analog channels, so naturally thats what I was picking. What is the significance of 12.5k in 'mixed'?

Thanks for everyone's help with this.

Under the personality your having an issue with make sure des-xl default is not checked. You shouldn't have to have it set to mixed for it to work, but its a good work around

The apx does the same thing.
