USB programming cable keeps installing as a modem

Post by tskilbride »

I got a USB programming cable for the XTL/PM series radios. When I plug it into my USB port, it says it finds the drivers and installs at a modem. Any work around this?

Thanks

It does install as a modem. When you look in the device driver it should say something like xtl or xts modem when a radio is connected.

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

that is correct, same way if you plug your computer into the usb port on your cell phone, it shows up as a modem and sometimes as a storage device if it has a memory card slot
