MCS2000 INCORRECT CONTROL HEAD

Post by anautofix »

I have a model II UHF 110w unit. When I read the radio it gives me options for a model III control head and or mike only. How can I tell it it has a model II control head attached to it?? Is there a dip switch?? Any help is greatly appreciated. Please e-mail me at [email protected]

Thank You in advance!!

You would need to blast in a codeplug from a Model 2 radio. I had the same thing happen on a 900MHz radio. When I got it, it read as a Model 2 but had a Model 3 head. It came from a shop that deals with used radios, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone put on the wrong head not realizing. The only way I was able to fix it was to blast in a new M3 codeplug.
