Ok everyone. I’m asking this question because I’m getting conflicting answers locally on this topic and want some additional input.
I have been told that leaving my radio on and scanning while in the charger will either “Brick it” or corrupt it to the point of it no longer work correctly - thus the point of not being able to repair/correct the issue it.
I have: Motorola ASTRO Saber III Model#: HO4KDH9PW7AN
Motorola OEM Charger Model#: NTN4734A
Aftermarket Abell Battery Model#: AT-NTN4592 (Ni-MH 2700mAh)
Is this: True or False?

FALSE
The only harm will be the battery getting overcharged and over heated.

Hello:
Like Will said FALSE.
This is common sense but its been done.
Do not pickup the radio in the charger and tx with it in the charger.
I know i know most of us wouldnt do that but i have customers that have and eventualy they paid for it.

Re: Bricking a Astro Saber by leaving it on in the charger?
Yup, defiantly false.
Also, if you have an Impres charger, it IS ok to leave the radio ON in the charger (but DO NOT transmit with it on in the charger).
At least, that's what I've gathered from reading the boards here. If you have a standard rapid charge it WILL fry the battery.
