I have successfully flashed one XTS 2500 and two XTS 5000's with this firmware, and both uploaded without incident and the portables are running the firmware just fine so far. I have not tested it with any mobiles as I don't have access to any at the moment.

Hmmmm, it's already at the "a" revision
I hope we don't have an R15 debacle all over again
If you are brave try to upgrade and sync the head

Re: R16.00.00 firmware and CPS out for XTS/XTL!
I have it running on several XTS 5000's and XTS 2500's without issue. Confirmed that UCM flash on XTS 5000 works with USB cable.
Re: R16.00.00 firmware and CPS out for XTS/XTL!
Was able to load 16 into my UHF Xtl and sync my 03 control head with no problems. My XTS 5k with no problems as well.

Re: R16.00.00 firmware and CPS out for XTS/XTL!
Wondering if I should take the plunge and try flashing my dash mount XTL2500... Last time I tried to flash it, it required a depot trip (R15.00.09).
Re: R16.00.00 firmware and CPS out for XTS/XTL!
Rule of thumb is there is no need to upgrade unless the firmware is adding a feature you need or fixing a bug that you need corrected. I know we all like to have the latest and greatest but don't take the chance of killing a perfectly good radio unless you NEED to upgrade the firmware.
Just my opinion.

And that is sage advice that I learned the hard way with the last upgrade. I think I'll just leave well enough alone on my XTL.KB9KST wrote:Rule of thumb is there is no need to upgrade unless the firmware is adding a feature you need or fixing a bug that you need corrected.
