Ht 1250 wont read/write

Post by redneck_1086 »

I had already programmed this radio a day or two prior, but I need to change the MDC ID and now I cant read/write the radio.

When I attempt to write the radio I get the message, "Unable to get codeplug from the device in order to verify wether we can write to this device or not"

When I attempt to read the radio I get the message, "Couldnt open port. Check wether device/rib are powered on or not, and the device to rib, and the rib to pc connections are ok"

I can program the other radios (same model/firmware version ect) just not this one. I am using a ebay ribless cable, but dont see that being the problem since it works on the other radios. What could it be?

Radio is R05.13.04
Cps is R06.12.02

If you have some DeOxit Gold or other nonabrasive contact cleaner, clean the contacts on the radio's accessory connector, reattach your programming cable, and try again. I wouldn't recommend using anything abrasive(even a pencil eraser) because the gold's so thin on the contacts that you'll remove it, allowing corrosion of the base metal.

It could if there's a film over the gold on the contacts.
