APX 3" belt clip on an XTS5000 ?

Good day !

Just curious if anyone has tried the large 3" belt clip for the APX (more specifically, model number HLN6875A ) on an XTS3/5000 ? I know they WILL fit, but has anyone here actually tried it and found it better than the standard 2.5" plastic one they normally come with ? I was thinking of picking a few of them up for my 5000, and would like to hear some feedback on them first.

Well that's the replacement for the NTN8460 public safety belt clip, I don't like it personally, makes the radio stick out too far from the belt and kind of lets it bite onto the belt. Piece of crap IMHO

I have the APX clip on my 5000. It is a bit gaudy on the belt, I'll admit. However it works great (darn great actually) if you clip the radio to your sun visor when it is flipped down.

Well, the thing is, I LOVE the extra-long 3" metal belt clip that's on my MTS2000, but I've never used the larger 3" belt clip for the APX/XTS series. Judging from the pictures online, it looks plastic almost exactly like a Waris series belt clip. But, as long as it works, that's all I care about. From what I've seen, they are about the same price (and at some places even cheaper) than the standard 2.5" belt clip @ around $10.00.

I ordered two of these the other day and just read this thread. The standard XTS5000 belt clips that I have all have plastic hinge plates that pop off the battery way to easy so I ordered the HLN6875A because it looks like it has a metal hinge plate. I am used to the MTS2000 belt clips and they never pop out.
