Mystery Radio - APX 6000Li ?
Was pulling some images from the Motorola Photography website and came across the Motorola APX 6000Li, other then seeing them in posed photos with a SWAT team I have been unable to gleen any details at all about this radio. Did anyone see this at APCO in Philly?
I dumped some photos on my blog, lets see how much trouble I get in -

Re: Mystery Radio - APX 6000Li ?
It's supposed to be a dumbed down version of the APX6000 to capture the XTS2500 upgrades. They mentioned it a couple weeks ago during an ASTRO25 update webinar, but I haven't seen any pics yet.
Re: Mystery Radio - APX 6000Li ?
So are the rumors of them killing off the XTS line in favor of the APX line finally gonna come true?

So its the same form factor as the 6000? It doesn't look much smaller if at all, but hard to tell in those photos.
I don't see a point of a "dumbed down" version - since these are flashport radios you pay for the features you need. Unless the Li is a non flashport strictly analog only version? In that case it'd definitely not be an XTS replacement...

There was no such thing displayed at APCO, and the pics look like every other 6000 I've seen other than the "LI" on the label.

Any updates on this ? It would be interesting to know if / when Motorola plans on axing the XTS5000 / 2500 series in favor of an all exclusive APX line. We all know the day is coming, but when ?

saw it at the Motorola booth at Fire Rescue International this past week, looked like a standard fare 6000 to me.

Now learning the APX line will look something like this in the near future:
APX2000 (portable)
SRX2200 (portable) (Military "Tan" Version)
APX4000 (portable)
APX6000 (portable)
APX6000XE (portable)
APX6500 (mobile)
APX7000 (portable)
APX7000XE (portable)
APX7500 (mobile)

Interesting.

There's pricing information for the APX4000 etc at least one customer here:
http://www.co.berks.pa.us/Dept/DES/Docu ... 110825.pdf
$3500 list with a single AC charger and 2.3mAh battery, presumably with whatever flash this customer is getting across the fleet.

Re: Mystery Radio - APX 6000Li ?
Looks like a APX45000 mobile should be added to the list as well.
Wondering if all these APX will be marketed as Phase II or will they cheap out on some of the lower tier units?

And O2 control head, and O4 head.wiscomm wrote:Looks like a APX45000 mobile should be added to the list as well.

Also if you look in the new basic service manual for the APX mobiles, there is now also a APX5500.
If you look at the part numbers for the APX4000 they use Trbo accy, and the 4500 has a internal speaker.
They both have 512 channels and the 4000 has a small front dispaly with no top display and a limited keypad.
