Disabling DVP-XL from a Quantar
I'm getting ready to narrow band a customer, and they have 2 Quantar bases, both have DVP-XL. I need to remove this, as it is not narrow band capable. I'm not familiar with Quantars, and the only manual I've found so far was on Motorola's website, which is the Quantar RSS manual. I was told that there is a secure control point that needs to be removed, but I'm not sure if it is a card within the Quantar or a separate piece of equipment. I have a Quantro base out back that I'm going to read so I can see what is available through the RSS, but basically I'm looking for a little education on this base, if someone could be so kind as to oblige me on this
Re: Disabling DVP-XL from a Quantar
Well the subscribers won't allow 12kbps SECURENET transmission in narrowband anyway... So it's kind of a moot point.
I just looked at the programming for one of my Quantars, and couldn't find any option for enabling or disabling SECURENET. Simply putting it in narrowband mode will ensure it won't work anyway, so there you go.
If it's going to be anywhere, it'll be in "Channel", "Basic" tab, "Modulation Type". Only the older stations have options for Securenet, otherwise it's just Analog or ASTRO CAI.

IIRC, reprogram the Quantar's codeplug with CSS c14 and higher, and Analog Securenet goes bye bye and the station won't repeat it anymore.

So when I get on site and start digging in, I realize that DVP-XL had been previously removed, yet nobody was nice enough to pass that information along.
Thanks for the info, always helpful.
