Nice. I hear IMBE is also on the list of potential considerations, but it looks like FPP will come sooner than later.

I would not be surprised if this would be limited to 144-148 and 430-450 for the ham world. I don't think they are marketing that feature commercially.

That's Moni one of our guys running a MotoTRBO repeater in Delray Beach. He is a real wiz at this stuff.

Has anyone had their hands on this and played with it yet? From what I understand it is now available. Requires that the GOB be installed.

I don't have it - but a couple friends of mine have it.

You have to use the option board which you need to press and hold the home key for. Once you do that there are 16 field programmable channels which let you do everything, frequency, PL/DPL, Color Code, and Time slot. I believe talkgroup as well - but do not recall off hand.

Unlike the FPP in Motorola radios you can not edit channels in the actual radio programed by CPS.

This is correct. Essentially you have a complete radio on those 16 channels, which functions withing the design band limits of the host.

So, my TrboFPP works anywhere in the full range of the radio. Nice, when you need a quick test radio on a customer's digital system.

Where can you buy this? You need to purchase a GOB from MOT and pay for Moni's firmware? I want in.

I thought that I heard quite a while back that Moni had given up on this project and would not be providing any further support or data for it.

I think I had a memory failure, and it could have been that it was /\/\ told him that they were not interested. Whatever. With two TRBO repeaters in my home area and no other activity save for small PDs and some janitorial services I have no need for FPP at all.

Check here:

Very basic install and operating instructions are here:

And yes as someone has pointed out, you need to purchased the GOB from /\/\ first.

Moto supposedly came down and nuked the FPP project. Guess not if he's still selling it.

$250? For 16 channels of FPP limited to ham bands, though?

It's one zone of 16 channels (the option board zone) any split, any PL,DPL or digital, and whatever the bandsplit of the radio is. So, if you have a Trbo VHF, its 136-174. 800? yep.

UHF? T-band? Yep. Whatever you could key into the channel field via software will FPP.

This has become my handiest test radio for the shop, since we have so many Trbo systems in place. It does NOT, however, seem to allow you to turn encryption on or off, since its partially a radio wide feature.

So, your basic complete radio kit would be an XTS in each band with FPP, and a Trbo in each band, with FPP. I'm selling my HT1550s. I now have my pelican case with 6 portables in it. 3 Trbo, 3 XTS5000s.

I know it's meant to work OK, but has anyone tried it in a mobile?

I think I have an extra GOB around here, but spending the $250 for the key to load the board on a 'what if'.... well.

I too would be interested, although an FPP mobile with only one zone capable is not too great, and you would have to put one of those ugly hunking mikes on it.
