ASTRO 25 Conventional vs/ ASTRO 3.1 Conv S/W on GTR8000

ASTRO 25 Conventional vs/ ASTRO 3.1 Conv S/W on GTR8000

Is there any reason to NOT order the ASTRO 3.1 Conventional software on the GTR8000, versus the ASTRO 25 Conventional software? They are priced exactly the same. If you start off with a simple Conventional P25 system and later migrate to a Conventional 3.1 network, it would seem the 3.1 software would be the better bet, unless this software precludes the use of a simple conv network?
