APX6000 Programming Question

Post by KX5MOT »

I have an APX6000, model I top display, model #H98KGD9PW5AN, firmware & CPS ver 7. When I read the radio the codeplug says the radio is capable of 870 channels max; so when setting up the buttons, I programmed the bottom side button as "Zone Bank Up" with the hopes of it ascending through the banks of 3 zones each on the ABC switch, but it will only allow me to toggle between two 3 zone banks giving me acces to only the first 96 channels.

According to the CPS help under the button configuration menu the "Zone Bank Up" button can be configured to either "Disabled", "Basic" or "Enhanced" which allows for "one 3 zone bank", "two 3 zone banks" or "up to 25 zone banks" respectively, but there is no "Enhanced" in my drop down menu and the help reads "only when radio is option/model capable" in fine print.

So is there something I'm missing here or is this a really nice fancy radio that will only do 96 channels at a time? Keep in mind this is my first time to program an APX.

Is there a price for that option?
