Converting a Motorla GTX Portable to Scan a Trunk System

Can any of the older Motorola Portables or Mobiles be converted to receive a specific trunk group
I dont want to trash my Motorola GTX Portables!
Any suggestions???

Get a scanner, as stated all over this forumn if you are an authorized user on the system go ask the system admin to program the radio up for you. there is no possibility of the radio getting bricked and you can pick what exactly you want to listen to

Privacy Plus or LTR? 800 or 900?

I think the big issue you are going to run into is rebanding - if this is a 800 PP/Smartnet system that has rebanded and has 25kHz-spaced channels then your GTXes are useless.
