CPS Password Removal - XTS1500

I have an XTS1500 which came with a CPS password.
It powers up fine, scrolls features when HOME is pressed 5 times, is not inhibited.
After much searching related topics on the board, I did not find a fix or work around specifically for the XTS1500.
Most of what I found on other radios required hex editing.

Is there a quick fix to recover or remove the CPS password for the XTS1500 ?
If not, how is the hex editing of the 1500 undertaken ?
