Anyone out there have one of these chips for sale or can help me get one. I have a programmer for it.

If you come up dry here, the chip is less than $25 from Motorola parts - or even cheaper if you know someone at a shop. Once you get the chip you will probably want to use that PROM programmer to make an archive file of the chip for backup purposes (or whatever)

Sorry to bump an old post. These chips are canceled at Motorola. Anyone know who is the manufacturer and their part number? I suspect it's Atmel but am shooting from the hip on that one.

From memory I believe it's a 27C256-20.

It is a 27C256.
Since Mot doesn't sell them anymore, I make my own.
I have been finding them in old equipment like PC mother boards ( BIOS-ROMS ) and old modems, etc. Even old 800 mhz Maxtracs.
Blank with a UV eraser, copy with a generic EPROM "burner".

I have the burn once proms to make these. I have several ready to go. I also have the new conventional face plates to replace the trunking face plate.

Send Private mail for details and price.

I have the prom file for these and am slowly acquiring the 27C256 chips from various collections...and sometimes, if you open up a 900 trunking radio, I've found ONCE the old conventional prom taped to the inside of the case.
