Modification of Quantar 403-433 MHz Repeater to 380-400 MHz?

Post by Wadsworth »

Hello,

Has anyone here done or know how to modify a Quantar 403-433 MHz repeater to operate between 380-400 MHz (not including duplexer). I have access to several trunking versions of this repeater but they are all a bit high in operating frequency range. I'm good at working with hardware, coils etc. to make changes in circuits but if it is more than just filtering and requires a software change too, I'm guessing I can't do it. Just thought I'd see if someone knows, or has tried this.

This would be a Range 1 to Range 0 conversion.

Here in the States, Range 0 is strictly military operations and therefore modules, etc are not plentiful.

Converting modules from Range 1 to Range 0 would be a hell of a lot of work, both hardware-wise and software wise. You'd essentially be reinventing the wheel.

I would suggest trying to locate the proper modules and go that route. Modifying the existing ones would probably be more painful than it's worth.

Thank you, we have ordered the proper modules and going that route instead of trying to modify anything.
