capacity plus

Post by johnny1225 »

i wanted to hook up two capacity plus repeaters together for one of our customers. I was wondering can anyone tell me what i need to do this. I believe i need a ip switch. Do i need a internet connection for this or is it switch that plugs into the back of both repeaters?

You should be able to find the answer in the Mototrbo System Planner which is available as a free download on MOL.

Are the 2 repeaters co-located (same location)?

The repeaters need to be co located unless you are using linked capacity plus. You need a switch and that is about it. One repeater becomes the master and the other are peers. You need to set up the subscriber units with the capacity plus repeaters in the voice lists and Capacity Plus systems list and assign slot numbers to each repeater, i.e. repeater 1 has slot 1 & 2, repeater 2 slot 3 & 4. You then construct cpacity plus individual calls or group call lists.

It actually is easy, once you get the hang of it.
